We had our car in for a dragging starter. After having the car for a while they quickly contacted us with an estimate for $650 for other repairs (that were due on the vehicle) and said the starter was fine, but our newer battery was faulty and should be replaced. The issue didn't sound like it would be a battery given the symptoms, but I'm not the world's best mechanic either. We picked the vehicle up and had the battery checked and it tested fine on our own and at the auto parts store. We continued to have issues w/ the starter. We took the vehicle elsewhere and the starter was indeed bad. Mobile Tech did a good job on the services they performed, but unfortunately they were not the services we needed/requested. UPDATE: We replaced the starter 9 months ago and haven't had an issue since. The battery was fine as we suspected and continues to work properly in the vehicle.
Jason, Any chance you can swing that car my North Market St. location? I'd like to personally test the battery. As I am highly aware of what causes starters to fail, a battery. After reading the technicians notes including voltage drop testing that was done, I'd like to just kill my curious side and test that battery. I will gladly pay you for 10 minutes of your time. You can reach me at 910-769-9122. Thank you, David Friend.
